Blowing up Dinosaurs!!!

Really...that's what I was doing at work today!! Weve got a Dinosaur Zoo show next week at wor and it looks amazing, so weve done a marketing display with, I kid you not,two 6ft fucking inflatable dinosaurs!!! We did have a laugh though as I managed to get one close to the receptionist and she never noticed it stood there for 5 mins. Childish but great fun!

A massive hello and thanks to all my new readers who joined this crazy journey today after my Facebook post. I hope I can keep you interested with the inflight entertainment as we fly toward my destination and goal. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement, its really lifted and motivated me today, cheers.

My lovely wife had another really bad night last night and I reckon we got about 45mins of sleep between us. I slept through my early run alarm so I went out after work instead!
It was Joannes doctors appointment today. We left hopeful of some decent treatment for her, rather than them just plying her with more drugs. It looks like its ME (that's M.E. not actually me!, although I probably do cause her grief :)  ) / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which there are some really good specialists around. I don't profess to know about it but Im about to be come an expert on the subject!!! Oliver is still enjoying school, although homework is a bit of a nightmare area with autism (school is for schoolwork right?) so  its a struggle to get him motivated. And what the hell have they done to maths? All these bizarre and long winded new ways to do sums! Ive had to google how to do an 8 year olds homework and Im good at maths!!!

Running : 7:31miles   8:15 /mi    1hr

I was really tired all day today after my disrupted night sleep. As I walked home all I could think about was getting out for a run. I hoped Joanne was ok and Oliver wouldn't kick off if I went out. I got home and everything was ok so I very quickly got ready and slipped out into the warm and sunny evening. My route tonight was just a loop of Walney, a recovery from Sundays big run. I set off and let my body find its own pace, whatever it was comfortable with. Ive found this is the best pace for a recovery and there was no stiffness, aches or pains. I was running really fluid tonight, my breathing was deep and calming as I made my way to Biggar Village.

It was a beautiful night, humid and warm. The sweat was starting to form on my shoulders as I passed the 2 mile mark. I ran up onto Biggar Bank and the ocean stretched out infront of me. It was quite far out and the sun bounced and rippled off the wet, sandy shore. This is my favourite place to run, the sea air, the shore line and the easy trail all make it a relaxing and uplifting route. Id brought my camera on the run so I snapped a few pictures as I made my way North along the coastline.

Running, as strange as it sounds, gives me energy, rather than depleting it, filling my soul like an elixir, the stress from the day leaks out of my feet with every step like water flowing from a tap. I really am enjoying my running and still look forward to my run every day. I really don't know how I ever managed with out it!

The golf course came within putting distance and I pushed on passed, watching the golfers in the quickly fading autumnal light. Over to my left, far out in the Irish sea, the clouds lifted and the Isle of Man became visible. It rose from the ocean like a mighty leviathan, its hills and mountains looking like scales and humps on the huge monster. The sun was now behind the clouds as I paced down to the caravans at West Shore, skipping over the sandy, rocky trail.

Once I reached the caravans I turned towards home, down 13 corner lane to North Scale and onto the Promenade. Its an amazing view of all the boats, moored in the channel under the shadow of Jubilee Bridge. I often wonder if its engineers and designers ever thought it would be so laden with heavy traffic. (I often think this when I walk across the bridges middle section. Especially when it bounces up and down after a heavy bus!)
I made my way across the busy road section at the lights and carried onto home, keeping the same steady pace.
It had been a lovely recovery run in the warm evening air. I stretched out and had my dinner before tidying up and getting sorted for the morning.
